Cristina de Prada has developed a technique to turn a cork sheet into a hat block. Although more fragile than wood, cork is easy to work with and can be fashioned into unique sculptural shapes. Cristina will share a video of the whole process, how different layers of cork sheet are made into a custom hat block. Students will receive instructions on how to draw the pattern and make the bandeau block. The technique will be explained in detail and students may work along during the demonstration.

This is a demonstration of 90 minutes, plus time for Q&A with Cristina.

Please note that there is a change for this year ~ those who register for the course will receive a link to the recording. It will be sent out after the live session and viewable through Sunday, December 14th. This will allow members who have scheduling conflicts on November 23rd to still participate and learn the technique. In addition, it allows time to re-watch the demonstration as you finish up your block.
