Christian Dior

(1905 - 1957)

Christian Dior founded his Paris couture label in 1946 and transformed postwar fashion with his first collection 1947, soon known as the “New Look,” characterized by rounded shoulders, cinched waists and full skirts. Throughout the 1950s, the house introduced successive silhouettes while extending Dior’s vision to accessories and perfumes, creating a cohesive and accessible expression of Parisian couture.
