Naama is a Brooklyn-based milliner with a background in costume design and a deep, passionate commitment to craftsmanship.  She holds a B.A. from Empire State College and a Millinery Certificate from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT).

Her early work in costume design—spanning Israel, New York City and Amsterdam—cultivated a strong appreciation for form, material, and narrative; elements that continue to resonate in her approach to millinery.

In 2020, a move to a remote ranch in Wyoming marked a pivotal moment in her career. Influenced by the landscape, culture and the spirit of the American West, she founded her millinery label, Design by Nami, where she began developing her distinctive line of handcrafted headwear.

Drawing inspiration from the diverse places she has lived and traveled—including Israel, the United States, the Netherlands, Germany, and Switzerland—Naama’s work reflects a global sensibility. She blends contemporary and traditional materials to create collections in wool felt, fur felt and straw, with styles ranging from fedoras and trilbies to pork pies and cloches.

Through custom commissions and participation in juried arts and crafts shows across New York City, Massachusetts, and Connecticut, Naama continues to share her passion for millinery.
