Hubert de Givenchy

(1927 - 2018)

Hubert de Givenchy founded his Paris couture house in 1952, introducing a fresh approach to haute couture through clean lines, separates, and youthful elegance. His first collection featured the Bettina blouse, named for model Bettina Graziana. Givenchy’s designs attracted an elite clientele that included Audrey Hepburn, Jacqueline Kennedy and Grace Kelly, whose association with the house helped establish its reputation for modern femininity.
